What is a professional DJ service?

There are many misconceptions regarding the DJ industry. Many people view DJ's as someone that only plays music. A professional DJ does a lot more than just this. A professional DJ has the experience to not only play appropriate music for an event, but also act as an MC, sound technician, and music programmer and as an event coordinator. A professional DJ is someone that works in this industry because they have a love of music and enjoy performing. We take great pride in doing our jobs and focus on making our events a success.

You have planned for this day for many years. This is a day that you will remember for the rest of your lives and you have only one chance to get it right. Some DJ's only perform in this industry as an extra source of income and basically look at your event as they would any other event. This is not the case with Danse Muzik. We treat every function differently. Different people have different needs and these needs have to be taken into consideration. Every function differs in one-way or another.

Whether it is music, or special events that are going to be taking place. We as professionals will perform based on the clients needs. Also, equipment is another issue that should be addressed when looking for a DJ. Danse Muzik only uses professional sound and lighting equipment. If it is not a standard in the industry, we will not use it.

Why is music so important at your reception?

One of the things people will remember most of all about your reception is the entertainment. After all, you wouldn't serve McDonald's at your wedding reception to save money. But a DJ is something some people are willing to compromise. There are many cut-rate DJ's in the industry. The reason they are so cheap is because they use poor or outdated equipment and they have a very limited music library as well as having little or no experience performing at wedding functions. Poor equipment provides poor sound and poor music provides poor atmosphere for your guests.

What is a music consultation?

A music consultation is when we go over the music that you would like played at your wedding reception. Your consultation will usually take place 2-4 weeks before your wedding date. At this time we would ask that you have all of your special requests ready and main songs chosen.

Preparing for your consultation.

Upon booking with us, we require an email address. An email will be sent out to you with a password. This enables you to access our online wedding planner anytime you like.  If we do not carry certain selections, you are more than welcome to provide us with some music from your collection so we can customize the night exactly how you would like us to. (CD's are to be labeled with name & phone number of owner and songs to be played).

Generally, the dancing portion of the evening will be approximately 4 hours. In this time frame we will be able to play about 40 songs. Please keep this in mind when making your song list for the reception. We do take requests on site so your guests can let us know some selections that they may like to hear. After all, we want to make your event as successful as we possibly can.

Traditional Music & Dances For Your Ceremony & Reception

This may help give you ideas about the following special wedding moments that may take place:

Prelude: The music played before the ceremony begins.
Processional: The selection(s) played as your family and wedding party walk down the aisle.
Bridal Processional: The music played when the Bride walks down the aisle.
Interlude: The songs performed during the ceremony (registry signing).
Recessional: The selection played as you walk up the aisle together as husband and wife.
First Dance: The song played as you dance your first dance as husband and wife.
Father/Daughter -- Mother/Son Dances: The songs you and your dad, and your husband
and his mother dance to.
Cutting The Cake: The music played while you cut the cake.
Garter And Bouquet Toss: The music played during the bouquet and garter tosses.
Last Dance: The last song of the night. This tune is often a reprise of the first dance song.
Getaway/Archway Song: The song that accompanies your exit from the reception.

Set Up For the Big Day.

Our crew will set up your system earlier in the day. This way we can sound check the system properly and not annoy your guests in the process. Your DJ will arrive about approx. 1 hour prior to his/her scheduled start time.

How Much Will This Cost?

We offer several different wedding packages. All packages include a music consultation to go over your requests and timelines and set-up & tear down.

Please note: Due to tentative and pending bookings, reservation request system does not guarantee availability for any dates. Bookings are confirmed by securing service by means of a signed contract and security deposit for any date.
